Why do I need one?

More and more 18-25s need to prove age these days.  Touch2id readers are in most of the shops, bars, pubs and clubs across Trowbridge so you won't need to use your Driving License or Passport AND show people who you are and where you live OR worry about them scrutinising your picture every time you buy alcohol.

How much will it cost?

As the County Town of Wiltshire Trowbridge has been selected as the UK launch site for Touch2id.  The launch is backed by all the Local Authorities which is great because this means you can get on the scheme for FREE!  When you enrol you'll get a FREE card and a FREE sticker for your mobile.

Is it really database free?

Absolutely, 100%! Everywhere you go these days companies want to get your name, email and mobile number on their database.  Touch2id records no data on you at all at any time and it's never linked to the Internet.  Just the unique reference points from your fingerprint and your D-O-B are stored on your card.

Will I still have to carry my Driver's License or Passport?

In places where there is a Touch2id reader you only need your Touch2id card or sticker. The list of places with Touch2id in Trowbridge is growing   You'll find it in all the petrol station that sell alcohol as well as the Tattoo studio and the betting shops now want it too!!  Don't forget you can also use Touch2id to prove age when buying cigarettes as well.

Will it always be a card?

No. Touch2id is based on the very latest 'contact-less' technology.  We've recently brought out stickers for your mobile phone.  These are just miniaturised smartcard and pretty soon all mobiles will come equipped with 'near field communications' (NFC) which means your Touch2id data can actually be stored in your phone and work just like the card or sticker.

GOT A CARD AND WANT A STICKER?  Just bring in your card and your finger :^)  to the enrolment centre and they'll duplicate the details from your card onto a FREE sticker for your mobile in seconds, you won't need to re-enrol.

Can I use it elsewhere?

The UK launch for Touch2id starts in Trowbridge, the next step is for the scheme to be widened out across Wiltshire and into Bath then spread to other parts of the Country. In time you'll be able to use it more and more as you travel the UK.  Don't forget Touch2id has been designed to make the whole process of proof of age easier for the retailers too.

What if I lose it?

The only data stored on your card's chip is the unique data Touch2id creates from your finger (not the fingerprint itself) and your D-O-B. The readers match the unique data from your card to your finger at point of sale. If someone else tries to use your card it just won't work with their finger. It is quite literally "useless in the wrong hands".
